04 - Hold each strawberry half by the cut side and dip the rounded side halfway into the yogurt, allowing excess to drip off.
05 - Place dipped strawberry halves cut side down onto the lined baking sheet.
06 - Sprinkle chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or mini dark chocolate chips over the dipped strawberries if desired.
07 - Freeze the prepared strawberries for 1 hour or until the yogurt coating is set.
08 - Serve immediately for a frosty treat or transfer to an airtight container and keep frozen until ready to serve.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • They taste like ice cream but you can feel good about eating three (or five) because they're basically fruit and protein
  • The prep is so simple you can make them while chatting on the phone, and they're ready whenever you need a cool treat
  • Kids think they're getting dessert while you're secretly feeding them something nutritious
02 -
  • The strawberries absolutely must be completely dry before dipping, otherwise the yogurt coating will slip right off and you'll end up frustrated
  • Greek yogurt is not negotiable here, regular yogurt is too thin and will create a mess instead of a coating
  • Freezing is essential for the texture, if you skip this step you'll just have yogurt covered strawberries that are messy to eat
03 -
  • Use the ripest strawberries you can find because freezing dulls their sweetness just a touch, starting with flavorful berries makes all the difference
  • If the yogurt seems too thick to dip easily, stir in a teaspoon of milk to loosen it slightly, but don't go overboard or it won't stick
  • Make a double batch because these disappear faster than you'd think, and having extras in the freezer feels like having a secret stash of happiness
