15 - 1 to 2 teaspoons hot sauce, such as sriracha

# How To:

01 - Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet or pizza pan with parchment paper and lightly grease the surface with oil.
02 - In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated sweet potato, eggs, Parmesan cheese, almond flour, garlic powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly until a sticky, uniform dough forms.
03 - Transfer the dough onto the prepared pan and press it into a 12-inch circle approximately 1/4 inch thick. Smooth the surface and shape the edges to form an even crust.
04 - Bake the crust for 20 minutes until golden brown and firm. Remove from the oven and gently press down any areas that have puffed up during baking.
05 - Spread the pizza sauce evenly across the baked crust. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese in an even layer over the sauce.
06 - Distribute the sliced pepperoni, thinly sliced red onion, and hot cherry peppers evenly over the cheese layer.
07 - Return the pizza to the oven and bake for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese is fully melted, bubbling, and lightly golden.
08 - While the pizza bakes, combine the honey and hot sauce in a small saucepan. Warm gently over low heat, stirring until blended. Alternatively, heat in a microwave-safe bowl for 10 to 20 seconds and stir.
09 - Remove the pizza from the oven. Drizzle the hot honey over the top and scatter fresh basil leaves if desired. Slice into wedges and serve immediately.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • The crust crisps up in a way that makes you forget it is made from a root vegetable, not dough.
  • Hot honey drizzled over pepperoni creates a sweet and spicy combination that is genuinely addictive.
02 -
  • Do not skip squeezing the moisture out of the grated sweet potato or your crust will be soggy and sad, a mistake I made exactly once before learning my lesson.
  • For extra crispiness, carefully flip the crust after its initial 20 minute bake before adding toppings, a step that changed everything for me.
03 -
  • Let the crust cool for just two minutes after its initial bake before adding toppings so it firms up and holds its shape better during the second bake.
  • The hot honey ratio is personal, so start with one teaspoon of hot sauce, taste it, and add more in tiny increments until it makes your lips tingle just the way you like.
