01 - Rinse fresh cranberries and pat dry thoroughly with a paper towel.
02 - Combine 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring continuously until sugar dissolves completely without boiling.
03 - Remove syrup from heat, add cranberries, and stir gently to coat evenly. Let rest for 5 minutes.
04 - Transfer cranberries using a slotted spoon to a wire rack placed over a baking sheet. Allow to dry for 1 hour until tacky but not wet.
05 - Roll tacky cranberries in 1/2 cup granulated sugar ensuring thorough coating.
06 - Let sugar-coated cranberries dry an additional 15 minutes before using as garnish.
